Help, comp doesn't recognize disc in drive
Whenever I put a CD into either the CD-rom or the RW drive, the computer spins it for a second then stops and nothing happens and if I go to my computer to open the drive it says to please insert a disc into drive D or E if its in the RW. Does anyone know what's wrong with my computer? It just started doing this today after I ran a defragmenter. Also my computer is now running slower after I defragmented it, the unused percentage is 63% whereas before it had been 6 and it runs slower with every microsoft program, internet, outlook etc. performing an illegal operation. Also my computer now seems to have a mind of its own as it will randomly open new windows or select websites when i open the drop down list of sites also it will reply to emails etc. without me telling it to. Lastly what is the system 32 file? Ours became corrupted and Norton eliminated it could that be a factor in my problems? I know the last few aren't in this subject but I 'm trying to get any help at all.
Thanks

Which defragmentation program was run on the drive? Are there any indications within this defragmentation program's manuals or guides that contraindicate usage of the program if the computer is formatted with a certain filesystem?
- Lastly what is the system 32 file?
I'm not sure exactly which file you are referring to, but the symptoms you describe (including the fact that Norton deleted the file) indicate that you may have had a virus. Ensure that Norton has all the LiveUpdates installed, and run a complete system scan.
Also, you may need to run a spyware removal tool on your system such as AdAware or SpyBot.
