Help in installing Raid 1 on a PE R710 server with W2K3 Enterprise R2
Hi,
I have a PE R710 and want to add W2K3 Enterprise Edition SP2 on it. The server comes with a PERC H700 adapter and am using Dell Server Setup Utility CDU_1.6_CORE_173_a01 to setup the OS. I have setup the raid in the raid config to raid one and created the Virtual drive. I am using two SAS 500gb drives. However, when I try to run the server setup it is not picking up the Raid Controller, therefore, I am not able to get the OS installed on the Server.
Please for your assistance in getting the PERC device driver installed or whatever it is that I need to do to get the OS installed with Raid 1.

Pause the installation and insert the RAID drivers:
www.dell.com/.../DriversDetails
That said, this is the server version of Windows XP -- it is end of life and has been since mid-2015. There have been no security updates for it and it should NEVER be used on the Internet at this point - certainly not as a production server.

Hi Thanks for assistance. During the install I press F6 to place a driver but it requires a floppy drive and I do not have one on this server. Is there any way to get it to recognize a usb so I can load the driver through that media?
Also, grateful on the heads up on EOL and security risk in production environment.

With XP/S2K3, a floppy is required - that, or you need to build a new install disc with the controller drivers pre-loaded into the install media.
