How do you format a Dimension 4600?
I would kinda like/love to know how you format the C:\ Drive on a Dell Dimension 4600 Desktop??? I want to try to get my c drive ready to install Windows 2000 Professional on it, if I can!!! Where is the format utility to be found on my system?

Boot the installation CD. The formatting is done as part of the OS installation. Mouse over the Product Support link, top left. Then choose Reinstall Guides for details.

Hi,
Your first repy is right. I just wanted to let you know Windows 2000 is a good OS but very tricky. Windows 2000 will allow you to partition your hard drive and run it from a separate partition. I had 98 and 2000 installed on my drive for a year. It worked great until I tried to remove 2000. I had to clear the CMOS before I could install XP.
