How to disable RAID

I recently bought a Dell E510, and it is set up with 250gb x 2 Seagate hard drives, with "DataSafe (RAID1)" , using Intel Matrix Storage 5.0.2

The hard drives (acting as one) also have a 60gb partition (also came with dell-system restore purposes)

I want to try to separate the hard drives so the second one will just act like an internal slave hdd. How can I do this? I've been searching around for a while, and I cant find anything that actually does this.

The only way I know to break an array is the following.

Boot the system, press CTRL+ I when indicated to go into the RAID BIOS setup, and set the drives to a non-RAID configuration.

Then if you have RAID 1, you should have 2 hard drives that are exactly the same, after this, you can partition and format the second hard drive.

For RAID 0, you would loose all data on the two drives.

Check out the posts in this thread,

When I enter that Crtl + I thing, I don't have that option, the only option I have is "Reset disks to Non-RAID"

If i select this, once I boot up windows it automatically starts mirroring it back.

I tried booting it in Vista too. It didnt try to rebuild the raid, but I couldnt find the hdd.
