How to enable Maxtor NCQ (Native Command Queuing)

Just got the Maxtor Diamondmax 10 300G disk. How do I enable NCQ? I was told that I must enable AHCI within the BIOS but do not see the option in my Dell XPS Gen2 BIOS, latest BIOS. I also must have the latest IBM SATA driver (F6 at XP installation time) to take advantage. Does anyone have any ideas?
