How to re-partition hard drive from single to multiple partition

When I got my new Dell Inspiron 6400 notebook, entire 160 GB was made as one drive as C:.

C: drive is primarily used for application installations and I don't want to store entire data in C: drive.
Now I want to have multiple drives so that I can have minimal space for C: drive and remaining space distributed across multiple drives for data.

Is there a way by which I can re-partition my hard drive into multiple drives?

In the future, by using the Advanced Forum Search on the bottom of this page, you can quite easily find the answer to this often asked question, answered quite often.

First, you don't have one partition.  Go into Windows Disk Management and look, you likely have 3 or 4.

Second, you can repartition by doing a clean install of XP or buying Partition Magic, but either way you lose Dell PC Restore by Symantec, the ability to make your computer "as shipped".
