Insert the disc and try to open it in My Computer. I'm guessing it will work.

The disc is a DVD, and I have tried it in both drives. Neither of them work

Sorry, neither drive can read a DVD disc. You're out of luck.

What is a DVD? The disc or the drive? I'm not sure why you won't just try it. If it doesn't work in one drive, try the other one.

It is a DVD, so then what do I do.

I have tried that. Where in my computer do I open it? There is no icon for the disc though that is my problem.

I have one of those double disc drives. Which do I put the disc into?

Uh, either one?

Seriously, you cannot possibly break anything doing this. So just try it.

Ok, do you have a DVD drive? To check this, go to Device Manager (Right click My Computer, Properties, Hardware tab, Device manager), expand CD/DVD drives and write down the model numbers you see there.

You originally told me you had a CD, that's why I'm confused.

The things under the CD/DVD thing are:
HL-DT-ST  CD-RW  GCE-8483B

SAMSUNG  CD-ROM  SC-148A

When you open My Computer, you should see an icon for your CD or DVD drive. Just click or double click the drive letter.
