How to view a slideshow with Windows XP

Question

I just recieved a CD with pictures from a party. The CD was played using an Apple computer, I am wondering if this is compatiable with Windows XP. Also how do you get it to play! I can't figure it out! Please help! Message Edited by xxxcatsrulexxx on 06-09-2005 12:53 PM

Insert the disc and try to open it in My Computer. I'm guessing it will work.

The disc is a DVD, and I have tried it in both drives. Neither of them work

What is a DVD? The disc or the drive? I'm not sure why you won't just try it. If it doesn't work in one drive, try the other one.

I have tried that. Where in my computer do I open it? There is no icon for the disc though that is my problem.

Uh, either one? Seriously, you cannot possibly break anything doing this. So just try it.

Ok, do you have a DVD drive? To check this, go to Device Manager (Right click My Computer, Properties, Hardware tab, Device manager), expand CD/DVD drives and write down the model numbers you see there.

You originally told me you had a CD, that's why I'm confused.

The things under the CD/DVD thing are: HL-DT-ST  CD-RW  GCE-8483B   SAMSUNG  CD-ROM  SC-148A

When you open My Computer, you should see an icon for your CD or DVD drive. Just click or double click the drive letter.
