I/O Error on DVD-ROM - please help!

My DVD-ROM drive got an error message when it was ripping a source DVD disk.
The error was as follows:
 
I/O Error!

ScsiStatus:0 x 02
Interpretation: Check condition
CDB:28 00 00 00 C5 B0 00 00 01 00
Interpretation: Read(10)-Section:50608
Sense Area: F0 00 03 00  00 C5 B0 0A 00 00 00 00 11 00 00 00 00 00
Interpretation: Uncovered Read Error 
 
Please help me fix it.  Thanks a lot.

Also seen this error associated with the embedded Copy Protection on a commercial DVD, which BTW is a no-no subject in Dell`s Forum..
