I need help finding my slave drive

I have an 8400 Dimension and it failed the diagnostics test with a number 7.  Boot system died.  I received my new hard drive and it was installed by a tech.  WIndows and the resource cd were then install on the new drive.  I got a SATA cable and hooked up the old drive.  That is done, however I cannot find the slave drive on My Computer.  How do I find and extract info from it.  I am assuming I cant reboot the slave since that is what went out on it in the first place, but my tech informed me that I can extract data from it.  How??????

You may or may not be able to recover data. If the drive is properly cabled and connected, and enabled in Setup, and still isn't recognized, it's toast -- if you want to recover it, you'll need to contact a data recovery firm and be prepared for a steep cost.

Some data experts:

www.ontrack.com
www.seagate.com
www.drivesavers.com
www.nortek.on.ca

Since it's impossible to know how far gone the drive is, the answer to "is it recoverable" is a definite "maybe".

I found my slave drive, and all of its contents.  Enabling the drive in Setup is where I needed help.  We figured it out and it didnt cost me a dime.  Thank you anyway.
