IBM 300 GL
I inherited an IBM 300 GL which is running Windows 2000 NT. It was badly infected with viruses, and now it will not boot beyond the Windows 2000 screen. A number of files are missing or corrupted. I would like to load Windows98 on it, but when I enter setup, there appears that Windows 2000 does not give me the option to boot from the CD. I do not have a boot floppy either.
Does anyone have any ideas how I can load W98 on this box?
Thanks in advance.j

kweigel,
Thanks for using the Dell Community Forum.
You probably should post this in the Software section under the operating system you are wanting to install.

OMIGOSH......I only know ONE Michael Dell that works for DELL! Are you THE Michael Dell?
If you are, thank you for your advice. Even if you are not, I want you to know that I have owned Dell's since the 1996 and I have now purchased 6 of them, and I every single one of them is still running and has never broken down for any reason. I tell all my friends the are "ignorant" if they do not buy a Dell. Most of them have listened to me. Those who did not are now sorry.
Thanks for making such GREAT products.
