Insert additional Hard drive XPS 420
I have purchased an additional WD 500GB hard drive (identical to installed drive (OS))
I have followed the installation instructions (inserted in to SATA1 and on SATA2 during testing). On boot I checked details on BIOS and both hard drives show with capacity. Both drives show on Device Manager but in explore only (OS) and DVD drives are visable, not the new HD.
RAID is on and set to 0. SATA 0 - 4 set to 'on'
Any ideas why HD not visible in explore greatly appreciated.

It appears you are using RAID 0 with both drives. If so, RAID 0 combines the drives into one. So in your case you have 1 drive of ~996GB. This is why you only see 1 drive in Windows Explorer. If you open the Intel Matrix Storage Console application and set the View to Advance Mode you should see the two drives (under RAID Hard Drives) that make up your RAID 0 volume.

Did you go into the disk manager and partition and format a new partiton for the new drive? To use disk manger, right click my computer select manage and then select the disk manager.
Do not think it has anything to do with RAID, since that is something you need to migrate to and not done automatically.

Did you go into the Disk Manager ? The Intel Storage manager is for migratting to RAID 0 or 1 and managing your array. I think the issue is that you need to create and format a new partition before it will show up in the explorer.

If you're not using RAID 0, then follow TomXPS' suggestion.

Thanks for the quick reply.
I have looked Explore but only 450GB is visable. On Matrix Storage Console both drives are visable and 'functioning properly'. On the new drive 'Port 2' 'system hard drive' show as 'no' whilst on 'Port 0' shows as 'yes', could this have something to do with it?
