Installing new Hard Drives

I would like to install a Maxtor 20G hard drive to my new Dell 2400 system, but the book does not give instruction on how to do so.

First question: can I use the software/hardware installation program that comes with the HD and it work properly on this Dimension 2400 PC?

Second question: by installing the second Maxtor HD myself, will my remaining service contract become null and void?

Thanks for any/all response.

This is because the D/2400 made and sold with only one HD, to install a 2nd HD you will need a bracket, this can be purchased from here.

Regards to the installation instructions, as the D/4600 has the same case and chassis as the D/2400, you can use the same instructions, see the following

Personally I would use XP's Disk Management for this.   These are generic instructions for installing a second HD, they are by Seagate, but apply to all brands

Read the following.
