Latitude D610, How to remove CD-Drive from it's caddy.
A friend gave me a CD/DVD RW combo drive, which I was planning to swap out with the current drive. The current drive is within a caddy but I'm having trouble removing the bare drive from the caddy and I cant seem to find any how to's or tutorials on this subject.
I've removed all the obvious screws but the bare drive will not slide out of the caddy.
Can anyone give me step by step instructions on swapping the drives or point me in the direction of a decent tutorial.

I doubt there are instructions for something like this.

Hi,
had exactly the same issue, and have just successfully swapped my drives into the D610 caddy :emotion-2:
If you or anyone else is still having issues try this VERY helpful photo tutorial on how to install a new CD/DVD drive into the D610...check out the secret 7th screw which I'm guessing may have been your problem above wallacemarino
