Try another brand of media. Memorex media is well known to be troublesome. Pick the well known brands such as Verbatum, Maxell, TDK, etc.
The driver is generic to the Windows Operating system. There is only one and all optical drives use it. If you want to try the latest Firmware update, it is here ............
