ND-1100A, Windows Explorer hang, IMAPI CD-Burning COM Service flap
Hi - I've been having some performance problems and crashes lately that seem to be tied somehow to my NEC ND-1100A DVD-R/CD-RW drive. The only errors in the logs consistently present around the time issues arise are below.
I found a few similar posts elsewhere that suggest it might be a power issue, but the other posts all reference multiple internal drives and I haven't added any internal drives.
There is frequently a passing OS hang after login, and I can reproduce the windows explorer hang consistently by right-clicking on any folder.
OS is WinXP home edition, up to date via windows update. Thanks in advance - any help is appreciated.

Hi Coo-hatch,
I have an article in Section 6-5, article 3 of the CD/RW link in my post on IMAPI issue, whether it is relevant or not I cannot say but worth a look.
Also verify that you have DMA enabled for this drive, Section 15, articles 14 & 13 of same CD/RW link.
Finally Dell did release a Firmware update for this drive that help a number of Members. You should see a post from Dell-Stephen locked-in at the top of this conference.
Best Regards
God, grant me the senility to forget the people I never liked anyway,
the good fortune to run into the ones I do and the eyesight to tell the
difference.
