New Hard Drive installation/Dynamic instead of Simple/Question

I just bought a new 250Gb Enhanced IDE HD and installed it in my system To this effect I unplugged the CDROM drive and replaced it with the new HD (I know ATAPI is slower, but I only did this temporarily just to transfer my main 2nd HD files). Then I went to Control Panel/Administrative Tools/Computer Management/Disk Management and followed the wizard to give it an NTFS format. After transferring all files from my main 2nd HD I replaced it with this new 250Gb drive. After also reinstalling the CDROM drive and rebooting everything is fine (it shows in MY SYSTEM with all transferred files in it). I have one concern though I went back to Disk Management Console and the drive is listed with a different satus as follows:

The main OS primary drive has a "Partition" Layout whereas the new 250Gb drive has a "Simple" Layout. Also, the Type shows as "Basic" for the primary drive whereas the Type for the 250Gb drive shows as "Dynamic". Are these settings fine? Or should I reformat the 250Gb drive so that it shows a Partition Layout and a Basic Type like the primary drive? Will leaving everything as is now cause any kind of performance/reliability problems?

Thanks for your help.

Simply layout and Dynamic type are fine.  "Simple" just means the disk doesn't have mutliple partitions and Dynamic is the standard type for an NTFS formatted drive.
