New Inspiron hard drive making grinding noise

Yesterday I set up my new Inspiron 530s.  I hear a fairly constant, loud grinding noise.  I don't think that it is the fan, because I can hear a quiet whirring noise that I think is the fan.  What should I do to check/fix this?  Thanks!

Run Dell diagnostic's extended test, on the system.

How to run the Dell Diagnostics Utility.

Thanks for the advice.  I started running the diagnostics, and while it was running I called tech support.  They had me stop the diagnostics, remove the cover of the computer, and unplug the hard drive.  The noise stopped when I did that, so they are sending a new hard drive.
