Hi Jimmy,

My only words of wisdom are, you need to tell us what model your Dell is.

jimmy,

Here is your manual's section on adding and replacing drives.

In general, hard drives should be connected to SATA ports 0 and 1, and optical drives to SATA ports 2 and 3. You must boot to system setup (F2) and turn the SATA port to ON when you add a drive.

HDD 1 and 2 are in SATA ports 0 and 1 and cd/dvd drive is in port 2. I restarted like you said and it doesn't give the option to turn port 3 on.

You need to check the System Setup that the SATA port the drive is connected to, is enabled [on].

System Setup > Advanced > Integrated Peripherals > Click 'Enter' on the Serial ATA Configuration Tab > SATA Controller.

Remember to Save Changes & Exit.

System Setup details, are HERE
