No Boot Device Found Error

My laptop is showing an error " Checking media fail checking media.

No Boot Device Found? Press any key to reboot machine."

I was using AVG TuneUp Utilities before this happened and my computer suggested I reboot-ever since its been this showing this error.

I ran the diagnostics on my computer and everything seems to be fine. It says no errors are found.

Before this error my computer was crashing with error " DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL smb_driver_intel.sys.

My computer model is  Windows 8 Home Dell Inspiron R   i15RM-3659SLV.

I checked the hard drive and it's being detected in the BIOS.

I would appreciate any help.

Hi Anumn1990,

Now is the time to use that Windows 8 recovery disc you created when you first set up your computer. Then follow these instructions.

Start with a run of the Dell diagnostics - F12 at powerup.  Run the extended test - not just the quick 10 minute test.  If the drive tests OK, chances are the AVG Tune-up is at fault - hopefully you made a set of recovery media when you received the system, because you're going to need it.  If you don't, you will need to call Dell for it (it's free if the system is in warranty - or you can purchase it if the warranty has expired).
