No CD/DVD ROM drive - PC trying to install Printer instead!
Very strange, but CD/DVD Rom drive is no longer recognised on my Dimension 8200. Now when I boot up it says it does recognise new hardware but thinks it's a printer! Not sure how this happened as Control Panel says there are no conflicts, etc. Can anyone help!?

Hi Littlebopeep,
Click on the CD/RW link in my post and scroll to Section 20, article 3 & Section 11, article 2.
These will reload the IDE controller and Clear the NVRAM. Hopefully this will help.
