PC does not show MP3 files in MP3 player

I have a Dell Desktop and a Sansa MP3 player. My Compaq computer shows MP3 files in the Sansa but my Dell does not. Any suggestions would be appreciated,

Hi, alsteele:

You've stumbled upon the CD/DVD forum, but your problem seems to be unrelated to your CD or DVD drive. Anyway, if you tell me the model of your Dell system and the model of your MP3 player, perhaps I can make a suggestion.

I don't know if my reply went through. I have a Dell Dimension B110 and a Sansa C250

Ok, the next thing I need to know is, How are you trying to view MP3 files on the Sansa? Are you looking in Windows Explorer? Or is there some sort of program that came with the Sansa?

Windows Explorer. I attempt to copy the mp3 file from one of the folders to the Sansa music folder. As I indicated, this works fine with the Compaq but with the Dell Iget the following error message:

The file xxx.mp3 Has one or more properties outside of device limits. If possible use amedia program that can convert the file before copying it. If you copy the file now, it will be stored on the device, but may not be presented to the device user interface.

It appears from that error message you need a firmware update for your player, according to this site. See if the solution there helps you.
