Hi, Nag:

Just to make sure we haven't overlooked the obvious, did you install the chipset drivers first?

Your communication device would be something like a serial port, modem, internet device.

Hi Osprey,
thanx for your respond.

Here is the sequence which I installed after windows xp has been installed:
01. Desktop System Software
02. Application Intel Viiv, Application, Windows XP, Multi Language, Multi System, v.QRT 1.0.0.1093, A01
03. nVIDIA GeForce 7300 LE
04. Sigmatel STAC92XX C-Major HD Audio Driver
05. Input Device
     - mouse
     - keyboard
06. Network
07. Win Tv - PVR 150

I have done reinstalling of operation system on my machine couple of times, but to be honest I am never enough sure if it has been done how it should be. The computer never behave like when it had been shipped from dell.
I have downloaded drivers from Dell website, but I don't exactly know which I supposed to use.

Anyway, after your question I tried to install chipset driver and it said it is already exist.
Should I install it anyway?

Many thanx,
Nag.

For your next installation, keep these instructions handy.

That device appears to refer to your modem.

Hi Osprey,

Sorry for delay with my respond, but I spent a lot of time by reading all informations on dell web sites what I have been given from you. Its really comprehensive and I learnt a lot of new. I will re-install my PC probably soon. Also I would like to try reinstall it from recovery partition hidden on my hard drive. This will be big chalange for me, because I re-partitioned my disk in past. So it won't be easy but I would really like to try that.

Anyway, after all, I tried to update my driver for PCI Simple Communication Controller and I was miracelously saccesfull. I haven't noticed any changes after that, but maybe in future.

So, thank you very much for all.
Take care.

Nag.
