In the future, by using the Advanced Forum Search on the bottom of this page, you can quite easily find the answer to this often asked question.

None of the new computers have parallel ports, nor have they had in quite some time. You can buy a usb to parallel cable that should work just fine, I use one on my HP Laserjet 4L.

Hi, Rick: I also have an old LaserJet 4050N and Dell E510. Is an 'USB to parallel cable' all I need? Do I need any thing else to make it work? Thanks alot.
