Problem Message with DVD Burner

I need help with a DVD burner problem.

My DVD burner cancels, and I get the following message:

operating system error: GDIplus::Status = 0x8004025F   -13

My XP updates are current for SP2.  I checked for updates to the Sonic MyDVD software ,and none were needed.  I have also tried reinstalling the MyDVD software, and I get the same error message.

Any suggestions on how to remedy this problem so that I can burn DVD.

Thanks.

TTUPaul,

What are you trying to burn?  According to Microsoft the error code is related to DirectX DirectShow.

Have you tried to burn a variety of stuff, such as audio, VCD or data discs?

I am curious if the problem is with all recording aspects or just certain ones using your DVD burner.  I just bought a new Dell Inspiron 6000 and it came with Sonic, but I have no previous experience with it as I have always used Nero or NTI burning software.  Hopefully when the time comes to burn something using Sonic it will work for me and I will not have a similar problem that you are experiencing.

Same prob and have 2 different versions that don't funtion correctly after saturday mar 10. I have been all over the place on the web. Re-installed both versions multiple times after unistalling and re-sintalling and cleaning registry and using the ms gdiplus finder tool and the official roxio patch that doesnt pertain to the current version but I was trying everything and etc...

The short of it is, MyDVD when burning DVDs for playback, gives the error message, when it trys to encode audio. I have not tried any other part except the DVD-video program and won't, as I am aggrivated enough by this ninja problem. Snuck up on me. I'm figureing something got updated that threw it outta whack. The only thing I can remember doing that day, besides playing BF2, is unistalling the original LE edition, and installing the PLUS edition. Or atleast that's what my system restore points say. And as for windows update, I checked both add/remove programs on my comp and the windows update log on the website and nothing was downloaded.

I have put in an email to roxio and will call dell in a minute, and hope there is a fix I have not found.
