Have removed Hi and Low Filters-reboot
Would not Dell Resourse CD-- read- CDR101 not ready reading drive D.
Have Uninstalled driver under Device manager and rebooted.
BLD3L21/Deminsion2350.  3-3-03. Dell left out PowerDVD and Hard drive. Sent it to me 6-6-03 and support service helped me install it over the phone.  Never used it until now.
Will play music CD on Drive C.  Will not play CD on Drive D the DVD drive.
Will not play DVD's on Drive D. light comes on and blinks, DVD will start to turn--hear the hum--then quits.  window says (no disk in drive D)  Cyberlink says all updates come from DELL, but Dell support won't help me because the warranty has expired.
Can Predator HELP.  Thanks a heap,   taylort63@zoominternet.net

Ok, you've got two optical drives, a DVD-ROM and a CD-RW. Your DVD seems like it should be drive D and your CD should be drive E. Is that right? Or are your drive letters different than that?

That's right.  Drive D is DVD and Drive E is CD-RW

Ok, next little bit of confusion. You said, "Dell left out PowerDVD and Hard drive." I'm not sure if you mean you had a missing hard drive or what? Did you have to reinstall the operating system?

Yes, I did.     I had to open the can and install the 2nd hard drive with telephone support from Dell and then install PowerDVD.   I never used it then because I had no DVD's. But, now my Grand Children live with me and they have lots of DVD's.

                JLMS  XJ-HD166S                   DVD/CD-RW

Anything else to help you to figure out why it will not play DVD's?  Thanks Ted
