Installing means what? Clean installation? Upgrade from another OS?

It was from Windows 8 to 8.1.

Its better to just download and clean install Windows 8.1 with Update 1:
http://dellwindowsreinstallationguide.com/download-microsoft-windows-and-office/download-microsoft-windows/download-windows-8-1-retail-and-oem-iso/
Installation of drivers after a clean installation of Windows 8.1 with Update 1 will lead to superior performance.
