Restore to Factory Settings

I recently bought a laptop (secondhand) it is a Dell Inspiron e1505.

The previous owner installed XP Pro and I would like to restore it to factory settings using Dell Factory Image Restore.  The instructions are to use Windows Advanced Boot Options select the option "Repair My Computer". However I do not have that option. My options are the one that I have always seen on other systems including safe mode, safe mode w/networking, boot logging, debugging mode, etc.  I have tried the ctrl and F11 and nothing.

I have read that sometimes when reformatting that partition can be corrupt or erased.  I have however looked into the recovery drive and found the file on the D drive it is 4.21 GB and it is a WIM file.  The MediaDirect partition is also there and working correctly.   Is there a way I can restore without doing so through Windows Advanced Boot Options?   Maybe booting with DOS?

Any help would be much appreciated!

Are you seeing a blue bar across the top of the screen with www.dell.com in it on startup? That's when you need to press Ctrl + F11. If not, you've lost functionality of those keys and this website may help you get access to it again. http://www.goodells.net/dellrestore/index.htm
