Roxio Easy Media Creator 8 install problems

I recently tried to install Roxio EMC 8 on my XPS M140 and received the error message, "Internal Error  slm_dispatch.dll.3d53bff2_bcab_9cc4_c21c3 fg67599".  I uninstalled all of the roxio/sonic programs that came pre-installed on the system and I also cleaned out the registry w/ reg. mechanic and I still recieve this error message when I try to install.  I've never had problems installing EMC 8 on any other system but this laptop.  I'd very much appreciate any help someone could give me.  Thanks.
