believe that is correct listing, the intel 82801 eb supports the ich intel 875 chipset which the 8300 has. it has serial funtion built into it.

the new xps gen 2 has the intel 82801 er, notice the r, its the 875 chipset which has the ichr intel chipset that supports riad

on your 8300, if you want to install raid, a controller card is needed
