SATA III in Dell Vostro 3560 ?
I would like to remove HDD or DVD in Vostro 3560 and put in an SSD instead.
The SSD requires SATA III connection to achieve its peak performance level.
I know that HDD in Vostro 3560 is SATA II and the DVD is SATA I.
Question: Is any of them connected to SATA III on the motherboard?

Hi Lukcio,
The Vostro 3560 has an SATA 2.0 port but most SATA 3.0 drives are backward compatible.

Yes, they are backward compatible, however, SSD disks exceed the capabilities of SATA 2. Using an SSD (namely: Samsung EVO 840) in SATA 2 port means giving up on its full speed.
As far as I know the mSATA port in Vostro 3560 is SATA 3. Can someone confirm this?
Also, is it possible to swap the mSATA disk without losing the warranty? I think its hidden fairly deep inside the laptop.

If you have an mSATA SSD, of course you can upgrade it with no impact on your warranty.

So you are saying that you are sure there are no seals or stickers inside the laptop that I would break/tear?
According to owner's manual I will have to take out the motherboard, display hinge cover, keyboard, palm rest, WLAN card, LAN card and several other things in order to get to that mSATA card.

I'm not familiar with the exact procedure but Dell does not invalidate their warranty when you upgrade parts. As far as I know, all OEMs have a similar policy.
