SATA and IDE Drive Combination
If I understand correctly, the Dimension 4700 can only have a combination of 4 SATA and IDE drives. For example, if I understand things correctly, it can have 2 SATA drives and 2 IDE drives; 4 IDE drives and no SATA drives; 1 SATA drive and 3 IDE drive; and so on. Is this correct?
I have a Dimension 4600. Is the same true or can I have 4 IDE drives and two SATA drives?
Thanks

I just checked the invoice. It says I have a Dell Dimension 4600. The hard drive is described as follows:
R0190 HARD DRIVE, 120G, I, 8M, 7.2K, Serial ATA, SEAGATE-ALPINE

Bev,
Thanks for the links. I looked at the same documentation for the 4700 and that computer only has one IDE connection. That's why you can only connect 2 IDE drives.
Thanks again.
