SSD for Vostro 3550
I have a 250 GB Hardrive in my vostro 3550, and would like to swap in a 250GB SSD. I have read that some SSD's were not recognized by the BIOS.
Anybody done such a swap, and can recommend an SSD?
The samsung 850's are a decent price now, so that has my eye, but hesitant due to unknown compatability

Hi geralds34,
You read that where? There's really no difference between an HDD and an SSD. The most common mistake is not disabling secure boot.

Some of the problems appear related to an improper fit of the slim SSD inside the drive bay. I know of no inherent incompatibility of Samsung drives and Dell systems or specific models. I'm in fact using an 840 Evo in my XPS 8100 (desktop).

My Laptop is Vostro 3550. I have experience with Samsung 850 EVO 500GB and Samsung 860 EVO 1TB. Both of them works great with VOSTRO 3550.
