Samsung 616T Firmware flash- system won't boot
I just flashed my Samsung 616T on a Dimension 4500 with the updated firmware from the dell site (
Samsung SD-616T 16X DVD ROM, v.F311 (DOS), A03) and now my system hangs on the dell screen at boot. The system goes through its memory check but that's it. If I unplug the DVD, I can boot up. I can't access the floppy (system hangs before it will boot from floppy). What is my solution, or am I out of luck?

Hi Magnus,
Some Members have reported having to perform the flash twice in order to get it to take correctly.
Click on the CD/RW gif in my post and scroll to Section 6-3, article 27. Another Members suggestion dealing with how he addressed the same issue.
If this does not work and the flash rendered the drive useless, Dell will replace the drive if under warranty, just make sure when you contact them bye phone, inform Dell that you used their firmware.
Seasons Greetings !
God, grant me the senility to forget the people I never liked anyway,
the good fortune to run into the ones I do and the eyesight to tell the
difference.

Hi Magnus,
Click on the CD/RW gif and scroll to Section 11, article 1 & 2, see if either of these help.
Best Regards
