Stop Error 0x0000001E KMODE EXCEPTION NOT HANDLED Problem on WINDOWS 2000

I have a Dell Latitude CPt running WINDOWS 2000 and was downloading an update from the microsoft update website. Now I get the following message at startup

I get the following STOP error msg on a blue screen:

STOP: 0x0000001E (0xC0000005,0xBFEB1000,0x00000000,0x00000034)
KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED
***Address BFEB1000 base at BFEAE000, DateStamp 3eaf051d - NDIS.sys

What does this mean?
Is is possible to undo what I have done.

Regards
