Teac DV-28E-C Model Problem

My CD/DVD Drive is the Teac model dv-28e-c

Basically, my problem is that the proper name is not recognized in Device manager. It just says CD-ROM Drive. This all started when I had a Code 19 error. I first uninstalled/reinstalled my cd/dvd drive and that is when it took on the default "CD-ROM Drive" name. Of course I fixed the code 19 error by deleting my upper and lower bounds in regedit but the default name still remains.

I would like this to be updated to the most recent driver but all I find are firmware upgrades to this model, no drivers. When I downloaded the most recent firmware (located here), all it did after it installed was restart my computer. The default name is still there and no drivers were added. The cd/dvd drive works fine (as concerned to CD's, not sure about DVD's) but I would like to get this updated. Is there some sort of driver I should download?

Any help would be MUCH appreciated.

Thank you

There is only one driver and it is supplied by Windows.
All optical drives use that generic Microsoft driver.
Try to establish if the drive will read DVD media.

You can also try to run the Dell Diagnostics on the drives.
The Diagnostics may be on your hard drive, if not, boot your
system with the Dell Drivers and Utilities disc.  If it is on
the hard drive, press F12 at startup while the blue Dell is on
the screen.  This will take you to the boot menu where the Utility
Partition or Diagnostics will be a choice.  Run the Custom Test for
the drive and have a data DVD (not movie DVD) ready for the read test.

Yeah all this stuff works. I can play DVD's. I would just like the driver to be there so that it lists it as Teac XXXXXXXXXXXXXX in the Device Manager. RIght now its just CD-ROW Drive and I am not sure if the latest firmware has even been applied even though I opened it.

In the Device Manager, there is DVD/CD-ROM drives.  When you click
the (+) next to DVD/CD-ROM drives, what does it list as the drive?

It lists it as CD-Rom Drive. Check out the screnshot.

I see.  Normally it would be listed as a Teac DV28EC drive
at that part of the Device Manager.  That information
comes from the drives firmware.  I do not know why it
is showing itself as it is.

I would accept it as such because it functions correctly.
I do not know what to do at this point.  It is not a driver issue.

Unfortunately, another problem has risen. I installed Nero in the hopes that it would be able to work. But when I try to test the drive, it says "No CD-ROM drives found." Even though the cd rom drive works.
