Unable to read DVD

Question

I have a Dimension 2350.  Drive D: is the DVD player.  I can read data CDs, I can read audio CDs but I cannot read DVDs in the drive.  Anytime there is a DVD in the drive, it tells me to please insert a disc.  And yes, I have tried several different DVDs.  I have tried the PowerDVD software and Windows Media Player and they both have the same issues.  I have even tried Explorer and still no luck.  In My computer it shows the drive as a CD drive with 'DVD ROM' under it.  Any ideas?

What model is the CD-RW/DVD-ROM drive?

Never mind.  I fixed it by updating the driver for the drive.  I should have done this first.
