Warning Event Notification - Disk free space has dropped below the minimum threshold.
Dear Sirs,
I'm hoping you'll be able to help me. I just got an hard drive disk space warning stating it's low however I have 25.2 GB free from a 37.2 GB hard drive so I'm not sure how this can be true. I've copied and pasted the Dell branded notification message below...

Warning Event Notification
Disk free space has dropped below the minimum threshold. Free up space on your hard disk drive by:
1. Backing up your data to a tape backup, ZIP or network drive.
2. Delete unused files.
If you are unsure which files are safe to move or delete, contact your Help Desk or consult your software manuals.
>>
How can I correct this?
Many thanks in advance, Ben Cripps.

As you state this post is old, has been read but no replies.
So I resorted into just ignoring the message.
Hope you have more luck in replies than I did!

Running into the same issue.
When I searched on the internet, I only found this incident.
Our computers here are the Optiplex GX260 and we have PLENTY of space.
Dell, the previous post was entered in May of 2003 and has been viewed almost 300 times. There is no resolve from you listed for this issue.
Isn't there any fix? Where is this program running from? Who am I? Why am I here? Where am I going?
Thanks for any suggestions!

Started receiving this error on an Optiplex GX260 running Win XP Pro after installing HP software for digital camera with docking station. Error popped up frequently.
Called Dell tech support; their solution was to uninstall HP software & reinstall, or use XP System Restore. Did not think odds were good for those solutions, and since we are not running Dell's OpenManage anyway, we found the OpenManage service that was running (iap.exe) and disabled it.
After a reboot, the errors have not returned. So it seems to be a conflict with iap.exe that you can resolve by disabling that service if you don't use OpenManage.

I started receiving the same error on a Latitude, Win2000. Same situation 12Gb of an 18Gb was free. Then it went away for about a month... then it started again. I would go insane trying to ignore it, as it popped up constantly. Found a post at :
http://delltalk.us.dell.com/supportforums/board/message?board.id=oplex_other&message.id=4756&highlight=%22warning+event+notification%22+%22disk+space%22
that suggested upgrading OMCI. I just installed version 7 (required an uninstall of 6.0 that I was running) and it does seem to have fixed the problem... so far... fingers crossed.
