What are the specs for the XPS 8910 M.2 SSD drive

M.2 drives come in a bunch of different sizes and several different speeds and connector configurations.

What are the specs for the XPS 8910 M.2 SSD drive?

* How is the connector keyed?

* What sizes of M.2 drives can be used?

* Does the XPS 8910 support NVMe or just SATA speeds?

I have an 8910 with a 1 TB drive and am thinking about adding an SSD drive

The 8910 will take an M-keyed M.2 NVMe (PCIe) SSD.  A standard 2280 card will fit.

Perhaps more specifically, can I use the Intel SSD 600p Series drive in the XPS 8910?  These drives are 22mm x 80mm, support NVMe via PCIe 3.0x4, and use a connector with one slot.  They come in 512 GB and 1TB sizes.

Hi, I have a similar question, and I think a lot of people would appreciate if dell would publish some rough guidelines for installing an ssd in the m.2 slot, verifying the integrity of the drive, moving Windows 10 boot drive over to the ssd and utilizing the hard drive as a data storage device. I have an xps 8910 i76700 16gb w/ 1tb hard drive and nvidia 750. I understand the m.2 slot on the 8910 has been upgraded from the 8900 to accept full nvme cards and I would like to install a standard Samsung 960 EVO Series - 500GB PCIe NVMe - M.2 Internal SSD as the primary boot drive. Is there a simple step by step procedure for this? Thanks!
