Where's my CyberLink PowerDVD Decoding software ?

Hello,

FedEx delivered my Inspiron 9300 last night. Overall I am happy with the notebook (but remember its not even 24 hours yet).

I went through every item on the packing slip, but I can't find a seperate CD that's labeled "CyberLink PowerDVD Decoding", The packing slip says I should have it. Item number: 420-511 and part number U8606.

I got 2 other import CD's. The OS reinstallation CD and the CD that contains all drivers.

Does anyone know have any ideas ?

Thank you very much

You will need to contact Dell and ask them to send the CD.

I called this AM. They promised to send me a CD. I wonder why the packing slip says I should have when they didn't pack it. A lot of people don't have this decoder. Is this software in short supply ?

Dell is following a new policy whereby they don't automatically send you the software CDs of the preinstalled programmes. You have to call them to request it/them and you must also do so within your warranty period.

Apparently it is a cost-cutting measure!

They preinstall Word Perfect, and sent me a CD copy of it, too. I guess that policy is only applied to more demanded softwares. I certainly don't want Word Perfect.

Thanks again.
