XPS M1330 Error Code 2000-0141

Question

Hello,   I use a Dell XPS M1330 as both a laptop and primary computer.  I turn it off at night but work on it pretty consistently through the day.  I was working on it recently, and it locked up.  Ctrl Alt Delete did nothing, so I had to do a hard restart.  When it booted up, I got error code 2000-0141, not recognizing my hard drive.  BIOS found nothing.  I turned it off for maybe 15 minutes then tried again.   I can now boot up windows . . . somewhat.  I can either start normally or run repair mode (recommended).  I tried repair mode, and it sat there on the screen for around 4 hours.  I tried normal mode, and it continuously loads (1 hr, still no boot with microsoft windows bar continually flashing).   So now I get nowhere, but the computer does seem to be recognizing the hard drive now.  Is this an overheating issue?  What can I do?  I work on my laptop, so I'm suffering serious withdrawl.   - Sim

Sounds like a dying hard drive.  Call Dell and have it replaced under warranty.

Just wanted to update anyone else having similar 2000-0141 problems.

I ran chkdsk, but got nowhere. I talked to Dell, and they sent a new hard drive the next day.

Side note -> still not sure of the cause of the issue. Went from a Samsung drive to a Toshiba. Running ok so far.
