This is not really a question about the Dimension - Hard Drive (the topic of this forum) and you might get a better response if you posted in the Dimenison - General Hardware forum.  When you open your task manager and look at the Processes running, which process in particular is using all of the CPU time?  Note that in total, including the Idle Process (which is doing nothing) the %CPU usage has to total to 100%.

This is an infrequent problem with me also. I go to the Task Manager and look to see which processes have got the high CPU usage. It's usually something called CIVIC.EXE (or something like that) or it's MpfAgent.exe. The first one I have no idea what it is and I just end that process. Ending that process doesn't seem to have any effect on my system. The Mpf Agent has something to do with Mcafee. I end that process too but I guess it's probably shutting down McAfee.

Anyway, by doing this it makes my system run a hell of a lot faster.
