When you sent in the laptop to have the screen replaced ( by the way easiest enough to have done yourself ) Was the hard drive working? could you hook up to an external monitor and have the laptop work normally?
Who did you send the laptop to for repair. Changing out a screen should have no effect on the rest of the laptop components unless they did someting very wrong.
Get a 2.5" external usb enclosure for your hard drive and hook it up to another computer to see if it works. if it does then maybe the repair people damaged your laptop replacing the screen.
