hdrives,bourd help

Hi have a older inspiron 5000 like it alot till now.Got it form my brother as a hand mr down. It was working great. He said he had probles with the hard drive coming out

of the bourd. The conection looks good to me. but now it takes a very long time for it to boot up .Then it started to get error messges and bad . Had to run scandisk all thetime. I thought the hard drive was going. But now it will not even boot up with

out missing files. So i put another hard drive in it to see if the other one was bad.

and the other one was doing the same thing. I want to format the new drive and the thing was so slow it would not even do it time the right amont of time.It will fdisk it

alright. The hard drives sound like a reguler clock Tick Tick, when they are tring to run . Not like a normal hard drive sounds like a Bat out oh h_ _ _  if you get my drift.

Is ther something on the motherbourd that will cause this ? or something .Need

help realy like this notebook would like to keep it or its going on ebay as parts.
