how to install Hard Drive
Hi
I have a 8200 I'm trying to add a 80 GB hard drive to go with my other HD my question is I have only one plug in for a HD on the motherboard where do I plug the new one into?

You connect the secondary hard drive to the middle connector of the ribbon cable to the primary drive, also set the jumpers to Cable Select. The following article are Dell's instructions for installing a second hard drive in a D/8200

You do not need any adaptor, a ribbon cable has all "male" and the motherboard and hard drives have "female" connectors. You will have to, slowly and gently pull the cable connector from the hard drive, Dell cables usually have a "pull" tab for this. Also, remember to install the ribbon cable's coloured strip, next to the hard drive's power connection.
