lattitude cpi a366 upgrade processor?

I have a lattitude CPi A366xt and would like to know if I can upgrade to a larger processor?

How big can the mother board go?

Where can I go to purchase it if possible?

Thank you for any help?

The only main bit of a Latitude you can upgrade is your proc and memory. You can put up to an 850MHz Pentium3 in, but the faster models have what is called speedstep, and your system will run at the lowest speed (Probably 600-700MHz). A good one to use is the 500MHz Pentium3. Be certain your processor is in the MMC-2 format, or it will not plug in to the board. Although the processor has a 100MHz FSB, it will work with your current 66MHz PC66 memory. Upgrading to PC100 will increase performance.

I've been looking for this upgrade info for some time.  Where can these processors be purchased?

You can buy them on eBay.

Just do a search for: (mmc2,"mmc-2")

Sometimes sellers don't know the form factor of the CPU, and list the numbers listed on the CPUs.  You can go to Intel's website, and pull the processor #'s, and do a search for those on eBay.

I was able to get good deal on a PGA-2 processor that way (to upgrade a Dell Latitude CSX from 500mhz to 700mhz).
