projecting image from DVD through digital projector

I utilize my laptop to play DVD's for my class. I'm a sixth grade teacher. I use Interactual as my DVD software and usually it works fine. However whenever I install new system upgrades they seem to disable the software and specifically I am unable to project an image through the digital projector even though I can get the image on the laptop.

I don't think this is a problem with Interactual because this also happens with Microsoft media player. My guess is that something happens when I install the system updates.

Any suggestions? I don't want to go back to a previous restore point on my system.

Thanks.

Can you get anything on the projector at all? IE, the Windows desktop? If so, is it a copy of what's on the LCD, or an extended desktop? Have you checked/changed the settings in the Display Properties applet in Control Panel?

Carlos
I can get all other images projected except when it comes to a DVD image. Maybe it's something in the instructions for the DVD?

Thanks.

There are settings in the players for which display is active, and there are limitations with copy-protected DVD movies. You should go check the FAQ page for the player you use, and I'm sure you'll find info on this. You might also try running extended desktop rather than a copy of your desktop; this is how I do it on my 8600 and it always works fine. Media Player in particular will play the video full-screen on the extended desktop while the player remains on the main desktop. It does this automatically.
