spyware and ram question?

I renently had a " new" motherboard installed along with 2 256 MB RD RAM.He told me that I had a "ton" of spy ware in my system and to constantly check for it, Currently I have spybot search,Ad- aware SE personal & XOFT spy.  used to run them like 3 times a week with not impressive results in getting spyware. Since I got it back, I run all 3 everyday and I get alot of spyware since my computer came back. I keep my firewall and antivirus on and updated. What am I doing wrong ? Regarding the ram, I used to have 128 MB now I have 512 MB RD Ram with ECC and I see no difference what so ever. I wasnt expecting much but if anything its the same if not slower ?  any ideas?  The person also removed all my firewall and antivirus software  from my starup menu and he installed something called " Intel Application Accellerator" which I dont know what it does yet ?? I thinking that the problem is that when he got the motherboard it wasnt a perfect match exactly because dell was apparently out of stock and didnt make them anylonger, I bought my computer in april of 2000. But I recently got My new Motherboard yesterday from dell and was wondering if I should have hime or someone install the right one? One last thing, ever time I boot up my computer the norton firewall is always disabled..anyway to correct this so when i boot up it is enabled? thanks in advance
Win 98 se..

"The person also removed all my firewall and antivirus software  from my starup menu " IF you enable the right items in the startup items and services then you norton should be up again .

About the Intel Application Accelerator

Increasing the Ram alone would not have much of an effect. YOu hard drive and the free space on your hard drive and the amount of free resources and the number of application running at one time make a difference .For spyware queries http://delltalk.us.dell.com/supportforums/board?board.id=si_virus or the online chat at spywareinfo
