system volume information folder !
i have previously written on this forum about the missing 12gb on my 74gb ata hard disk but have not got any answer. I have now found that i have a SYSTEM VOLUME INFORMATION folder which only shows up in Partition Magic. This folder contains 8gb of my missing 12gb.
What is this folder and can i get rid of it and if so how ?
Thanks in advance
Colin

Well I can help you with some information on this topic. The System Volume Information folder is a super hidden folder on your hard drive where windows xp stores System Volume Information (System Restores Backed Up Files). Since this folder is embeeded into xp operating system it might be tuff to delete everything in that folder. I let you know if I find a way to do that but you can do one thing for know and that is turn off system restore in the my computer properties so this way you don't keep losing space. Hope this helps you.
