xps 8500 Hard Drive compatibility
Hi all, I have a xps 8500 that is about 18 month old and the Seagate 2TB Hard drive that came with it has stopped working, I am getting a 500 gb SSD plus an internal drive for storage, does anyone know the biggest size of HD the motherboard will recognize? I am deciding between the WD Red 4 tb or 6 tb. thanx

Hi Husupratt,
I assume you are going to use the SSD as your system drive. Given that, your mother board will support HDDs above 2TB as long as you install the most current Intel RST drivers. However, WD Red drives are intended for NAS, not desktop use.
