How to enable storagescope API

Hi we are running 6.1.0.7.430 EMC Ionix cc, somehow the storagescope launcher is still greyed out after inputting the license. Do I need to enable anything on API level ?

restarted the console and  rebooted the host did not bring back the storagescope to launch. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks,

Hi,

It may be best to open a SR with Support for to investigate this issue (Mention CQ 459305 in this new SR as it may be similar along with the information requested below). I have seen this issue before because the presence of StorageScope installation hasn't been registered in the ControLcenter repository. This registration is required by the console inorder to construct the launch URL. Which caused the the "Reports >> Launch StorageScope" button to be greyed out. But you should be able to launch StorageScope from the web browser manually.

Please confirm if you can manually launch StorageScope from a web browser window?

Direct your web browser to the StorageScope server. The default URL is https:// :30002/srm . Your web browser should display the StorageScope login page.

Did the "Launch StorageScope" option work first day after you installed StorageScope? When did you first notice it was greyed out was it after an update bundle was applied or did this option never work?

On the ControlCenter repository server go to the following directory \ECC\Repository\admin\Ramb_scripts and run InstalledECCCompByComp.bat from command line this will generate a log called  InstalledECCCompByComp.log which will list the components installed and the host they are installed on.

Within this file InstalledECCCompByComp.log do you see DSSRepository and StorageScope listed as installed components?

Confirm the StorageScope server service etc.. is running correctly?

Run the emcsts_getversion.bat command from (\ECC\Repository\admin\emcsts_scripts) on the DSSRepository host and confirm if it brings back the database version?

Attach the following to the SR when opened:

1) From the Host where the ECC Console was Launched
( Be sure that 'Console Logging' is enabled before starting up the ControlCenter console )
%USERPROFILE%\ecc\data\ \console.trc
%USERPROFILE%\ecc\data\ \consoleLaunch.log
%USERPROFILE%\ecc\data\ \console.trc.x.gz
%USERPROFILE%\ecc\data\ \ecc_console.ini

2) The non-encrypted rambdb dump file (rambdb_exp_notdedmp.zip)  from the Repository host: %RAMBBACKUPDIR%\exp\ .

3) \ECC\Repository\admin\Ramb_scripts\InstalledECCCompByComp.log

4) \ECC\Repository\admin\emcsts_scripts\emcsts_getversion.log

That expalins the problem more..I do not see "DSSRepository" and storagescope component from the log file. How can I add the storagescope module software in it? DO I need to re-install everything ?

Hi,

Have you previously installed StorageScope and its repository (DSS)? If not review the EMC Ionix ControlCenter 6.1 Planning and Installation Guide Volume 1 (https://support.emc.com/products/ControlCenter) page 336 to 340 on the steps required to install StorageScope.

If StorageScope etc.. is already installed open an SR with support with the information and answers to the questions previously requested.
